Oisre is a rare find, an American band playing Irish music with both New World enthusiasm and Old World virtuosity. Balancing the youthful exuberance of piper and multi-instrumentalist Zac Leger and fiddler Julian Lambertson with the seasoned experience of singer/guitarist Mike Dugger, this group is primed to make an impression on the Irish music scene in  America

Zac Leger has a lot of confidence. He became interested in Irish music as a teenager in , and ambitiously decided to teach himself to play. One instrument wasn't enough and he now plays approximately a dozen different instruments. His primary instrument is the intricate uilleann pipes, mastered to the point that he was a third place finisher in the 2003 senior All-Ireland piping competition in Clonmel, County

Tipperary. Now that Zac is an accomplished performer on several instruments, he continually seeks a balance between old and new influences in his music, walking the line between his deep respect for the tradition and experimenting with modern musical ideas.

'I haven't been right since!' is how Mike Dugger describes his introduction to Irish traditional music. Mike, a commercial artist, designed the poster for a De Dannan concert in and received complimentary tickets. Mesmerized by their performance, Mike ran out the next morning and bought his first guitar, soon followed by banjo and fiddle. Mike honed his skills performing for the mainframes as a late night computer operator, while touring extensively with Scartaglen. When that band split up, Mike went on to form Sunrush and . In performance, Mike's sunny personality and honest nature combine in a compelling presence, the focus of hushed attention during his unaccompanied songs, the musical backbone of Oisre's instrumental sets.

Julian Lambertson has been playing fiddle since 1993. An accomplished player in the Irish idiom, Julian has developed a masterful touch on his instrument, bringing a deeply soulful feel to his music. He began playing at age seven classical violin training, quickly gaining technique that provided a solid basis when he switched to Irish fiddle. He has studied with such revered Irish players as Liz Carroll, Liz Knowles, Brian Conway, Dale Russ, Mike Dugger, Scottish fiddlers Elke Baker, Laura Risk and fiddler Jerry Holland. Julian is equally adept in rock, blues and world music genres giving his playing and original compositions an excitingly eclectic, but always authentic sound. A seasoned festival performer and recording artist, Julian has performed all over the and both solo and with groups such as the Border Collies, Sigean, Glen

Road and as a founding member of Oisre along with Zac.
